Without a doubt, we have the best boats for rent in the entire UP, maybe even the State! Please prove me wrong...
We have more than a dozen boat options to choose from; we have something for every skill level. Single kayaks, double kayaks (tandems), kids kayaks, canoes, paddleboards (SUP), and hybrids (kayak\SUP in one). Choose to paddle the Au Train Lake, Au Train River, Lake Superior, or all! Maybe a remote lake or your vacation destination; let us know!
Renting from us is EASY!

3. Check into Da Yak Shak
4. Follow our shuttle to your trip's endpoint. Park your vehicle, grab your belongings, & climb in. We transport your group, kayaks, life jackets, paddles, and belongings to the starting point.
5. Paddle at your own pace (it's all self-guided) to the end, pull up the yaks, get in your vehicle, and do what you do...
6. We go pick up the yaks.
All of this is included in the prices.
Trips range from 1 hour to 8 hours long. We also offer daily, 3-day, and weekly rentals conveniently delivered to your location. Contact us for details!

With a total inventory of over 100 boats, we can accommodate the largest of groups We also offer group discounts to family groups, churches, organizations, and more; contact us for more details.
We are Pet Friendly
No matter their size, we can offer you a boat that can accommodate you and your fur kid for no extra charge! They deserve an adventure too.

Prices are per trip and all inclusive. All trips are self-guided.

Kids Kayak
6' Bali - Great for small kids, easy in and out. It comes with a tow strap and tows easily. Best for paddlers ages 4 - 8 and under 80 lbs.
Teen/Small Adult Kayak
8' Bali - Very stable, lightweight, and maneuverable. Best for paddlers under 100 lbs. (Kids 12 and under)
Standard Kayaks
11' Old Towne Twister - Rental grade Yak. Fast, stable and tracks easily. Comfortable high back molded seats. Max weight capacity: 250 lbs.
Premium Kayaks
10' Jackson Kayak Cruise - This yak has the most comfortable seat in the industry. It is so stable you can stand in this boat. It's the best in DA River or small lakes for floating or fishing. Max weight capacity: 280 lbs.
Premium - Bite
11' Jackson Kayak Bite - Very wide, super stable, with lots of room for a dog or a small passenger. Max weight capacity: 380 lbs.
Hy-bird
11' Hi-Life Hybrid - A paddleboard and kayak all in one. Perfect for those wanting to SUP but also have the comfort of a kayak. It is also great for an extra passenger such as a child or fur-baby. Max weight capacity: 250 lbs.
Paddleboards
8' Kid's SUP - Very stable, lightweight, and maneuverable. Max weight limit: 110 lbs. $20
10' SUP - Comfortable, stable, lightweight and maneuverable. Max weight limit: 220 lbs. $30
Tandem Kayaks
Big Tuna - The biggest and baddest tandem yak in the water. The giant tuna is hands down the most stable, comfortable, and easiest tandem yak to paddle money can buy.
Canoe
3 person canoes. Max weight capacity: 700 lbs.
Kraken 14'
This is our nicest boat to paddle. It has the most comfortable seat, tracks great and is fast and stable for its size. Great on Lake Superior or Doucette to Au Train Beach. Max weight capacity: 350 lbs.
Kraken 16'
Lake Superior yak. It has a comfortable seat, tracks great, and is very stable. This is an open ocean kayak and is great on Lake Superior. Max weight capacity: 350 lbs.
